Planetary Happenings for June 2010

There are moments, above all on June evenings, when the lakes that hold our moons are sucked into the earth, and nothing is left but wine and the touch of a hand.
Charles Morgan

The Sun will make it's way through intellectually diverse Gemini (the twins) until June 21 when it then moves into Cancer. This sign denotes our moods, nurturing ability and sensitivity to environment. Mercury(communication and siblings), will be in the sign of Taurus (the bull) through the 10th, and then slip into the sign of it's ruler Gemini in the wee hours of the morning. We can look forward to more lively, upbeat energy a break from recent intensity and that feeling of being stuck and unable at times to get out of our own way.

Venus, connected with love and $$, moves through the sign of Moon ruled Cancer. This signifies a period that reflects a somewhat more emotionally based response in connection with our finances (or lack thereof) and how we nurture and care for ourselves and others. Once it moves into Leo on the 14th, children and hobbies are highlighted. Mars has taken it's sweet time moving through the sign of Leo having begun it's sojourn last October. This has been a challenging period depending on the points it hits in your personal chart, and, more so for those with a preponderance of fixed signs. It moves into Virgo on the 7th and our focus turns towards clearing, cleaning out, and fine tuning the details of our life. Healing and assisting others by offering "acts of charity" is also prevalent.

Jupiter, that big old planet that is known for bringing opportunity and expansion, moves into the sign of Aries. This heralds a one year period of innovation, pioneering and being more inclined to take action where necessary without waiting for the band wagon! The New Moon in Gemini on the 12th offers an opportunity for initiating a new idea. Connect with siblings, neighbors, and get out there and network!

Some fairly difficult aspects in the heavens force life changing decisions. Neptune opposes Mars (3rd and 4th), Jupiter opposes Saturn, and Sun opposes Pluto( 26th same day as the Lunar Eclipse). Oppositions are dynamic, heavenly tugs-of-war that force us to look at both sides of the coin. In the case of Jupiter, we look at releasing something that has played a significant role in our life in contrast to the duties and restrictions that surround it. Neptune signifies the veil of illusion and imagined boundaries. On the opposing side, Mars reflects taking action based on core beliefs. In this case, it relates to something dear to our heart since Mars in the sign of Leo. It is not possible to integrate these two opposing forces. Rather, the two sides of the equation must be given equal weight so that a responsible and fair decision may be rendered. The choice may be agonizing!

The Lunar Eclipse on the 26th highlights a conflicting dynamic between what we require for our emotional well-being and how we go about achieving it, in contrast to the established conditions and structures that oppose our ultimate desires. It is best during this time to avoid manipulation and see the resulting full moon illumination as insight into what needs to be addressed and what needs to be avoided at all costs!
Cancer is also the sign of our conditioned past. Be aware of reacting to a situation rooted in your subconscious that no longer serves your higher path. This is a time of letting go.
